Malaysia's 12th General Elections - April 2009?

Yes, the General Elections (GE) is just around the corner. And Malaysians will once again be celebrating the occasion with campaigns, debates tongue-lashing, yelling, calling of names, but no violence.

But how long can Malaysia hold this record of noon-violence GE. Latest developments in two by-elections showed that the tendency towards violence was imminent but under control. The police force had done a good job this far. But how strong, firm and well-equipped is the police? History has shown that political turmoil is indispensable when there exists power struggle between rivals as well as from within.

Let's study history to find out more about this issue. Will Malaysia, in whatever condition safeguard her noon-violence GE record.

I would like people from tanwirjasa@yahoo.com to respond.
